Can you visit Siwa in a day from Hurghada?
No. Siwa lies on the other side of the country, in the Western Desert, more than 500 km west of Cairo. The journey from the Red Sea is very long, so you need at least one night there. That is why we only offer Siwa as a 2-, 3- or 4-day trip. For the journey between Hurghada and Siwa, get in touch: we will suggest the best option for your dates.

Siwa 4 days / 3 nights: with the Great Sand Sea
- Day 1: arrival in Siwa, check-in and a visit of the old town of Shali at sunset.
- Day 2: the Temple of the Oracle, the Mountain of the Dead and Cleopatra’s Spring, then time to relax by the salt lakes.
- Day 3: 4×4 excursion into the Great Sand Sea with sandboarding, a hot spring and sunset over the dunes.
- Day 4: free morning in the oasis before departure.
Which option should you choose?
If you are short on time, the 2-day escape covers the must-sees (Shali, the Temple of the Oracle, the salt lakes and Cleopatra’s Spring) with a night in a traditional eco-lodge, and it is the only option that includes meals. The 3-day trip lets you enjoy the oasis at a more relaxed pace. The 4-day trip is the most complete: it adds the Mountain of the Dead and a full day of 4×4 adventure in the Great Sand Sea, surrounded by huge dunes. Our tips for your Siwa trip
- Clothing: bring light clothes for the day and warm layers for the evening, as desert nights are cool. In the oasis, clothing that covers shoulders and knees is best.
- Footwear: comfortable shoes suited to sand and walking.
- Sun: high-factor sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.
- Water: allow at least 3 litres per person per day.
- Documents: do not forget your passport.
