Fishing Trip in Hurghada: Private Boat Sea Fishing, Prices and Tips (2026)

The Red Sea is not just a paradise for snorkeling: it is also a wonderful place to cast a line. If you are looking for a relaxed activity with your family or friends, a fishing trip in Hurghada on a private boat is a great idea. Here is how a sea fishing trip works, what it costs in 2026, what is included and our tips to make the most of it.

Can you go sea fishing in Hurghada?

Yes. Off the coast of Hurghada, the coral reefs are home to a wide variety of reef fish, and a boat trip lets you go line fishing in clear and often calm water. This is recreational fishing that anyone can enjoy: the captain takes you to his favourite spots, provides the gear and shows you what to do. As always with fishing, a catch is never guaranteed, but the pleasure of being out at sea certainly is.

Your options for a private boat trip

Private speedboat fishing and snorkeling: the ideal choice

The boat is all yours. For 4 hours, or 6 hours to reach spots further out, you switch between fishing and snorkeling at your own pace. Want to stay longer at a spot where the fish are biting? Just tell the captain. It is the best way to enjoy sea fishing in Hurghada without the constraints of a group tour. See the private speedboat fishing trip.

If you are travelling with young children or in a large group, a private catamaran gives you more space and stability, with a snorkeling stop and the island of your choice, for a half day or a full day. See the private catamaran trip.

Large private yacht with crew

For a special occasion, the private yacht offers a full day at sea with crew, lunch and drinks on board, snorkeling and a stop at an island. See the private yacht trip.

Our tips for a great fishing trip in Hurghada

  • Protect yourself from the sun: hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, as the glare off the water is strong.
  • Seasickness: if you are prone to it, take suitable medication before departure and eat light.
  • Mornings are often better: the sea is usually calmer and the light softer early in the day.
  • What to bring: towel, swimsuit, water and snacks (meals are not included), and a photo of your passport on your phone.
  • Cash: bring a little cash for extras and the captain’s tip.
  • Patience: fishing is always a matter of luck. Enjoy the moment, the sea and the snorkeling.
