Snorkeling and Diving in Hurghada: Intro Dives, Trips and Prices (2026)

The Red Sea is one of the most beautiful places in the world to discover the underwater world: clear water, coral reefs close to the shore and fish in every colour. Whether you dream of your very first dive or simply want to put your face in the water with a mask, diving in Hurghada is open to almost everyone. Here are the different trips available, their 2026 prices and our tips to choose the one that suits you.

Can you dive in Hurghada without experience?

Yes. An intro dive needs no certificate and no experience: an instructor explains the safety rules on board, kits you out and stays with you for the whole dive. Certified divers are welcome too. And if you prefer to stay on the surface, snorkeling (mask, snorkel and fins) already lets you admire the reefs with no difficulty at all.

Snorkeling or diving: what’s the difference?

When snorkeling, you swim on the surface with a mask and snorkel and look down at the reef from above. When diving, you breathe from a tank and go down among the corals and fish. Snorkeling suits the whole family; diving gives you a bigger thrill and a much closer look at marine life.

Full-day diving boat trip: beginners and certified divers

This is the ideal trip for a real first experience. After a safety briefing on board, you make two dives of about 20 minutes each at two different reefs, between 7 and 10 metres deep for beginners, always with your instructor. Couples and friends can dive at the same time. Full equipment is provided, and lunch is served on board with unlimited drinks. Diving is possible from age 10. The instructors speak English; a French-speaking guide can join on request for €20 extra. Not included: the marine park fee (€5 per person). Certified divers have their own rate, shown in the booking form. See the full-day diving trip.

Island day with an intro dive

Want to try diving without spending the whole day on it? This option combines an intro dive of about 15 minutes with an instructor, 30 minutes of snorkeling on the reef, lunch on board and about 1 h 30 on an island beach. The island entrance fee is included. Perfect for beginners. See the island day with intro dive.

Semi-submarine: see the coral without getting wet

Seated in a panoramic cabin about 3 metres below the surface, you watch tropical fish, rays and coral gardens through large windows. It is the perfect activity for young children, grandparents and non-swimmers. Those who want to can then snorkel for about 30 minutes from the deck. A drink is included and the trip only lasts about 2 hours. See the semi-submarine trip.

Semi-private speedboat to Magawish Island

In a small group on a fast boat, you head to Magawish Island for a stop and snorkeling on the reef, with a stop at White Island too. Lunch on the island is included with a drink. Faster and quieter than a big boat, for about 7 hours at sea. See the Magawish speedboat trip.

Hula Hula Island: snorkeling on a budget

A simple, good-value day: a snorkeling stop on the reef, about 1 h 30 on the island beach and a buffet lunch on board with unlimited soft drinks. The island entrance fee and equipment are included. A great option for families. See the Hula Hula Island trip.

Bianca Island: snorkeling and an all-inclusive day

On Bianca Island (formerly Utopia), you enjoy about 45 minutes of snorkeling, then a white sand beach with sun loungers in the shade. A snack, buffet lunch, unlimited soft drinks, a glass-bottom boat ride, Wi-Fi and entertainment with a foam party are all included. Remember to bring your towel. See the Bianca Island trip.

Orizea Island: sea snorkeling and a pool

You spend the whole day on Orizea Island, from about 10:00 to 15:15, with private parasols. Late in the morning, a boat takes you for about 45 minutes of snorkeling with an English-speaking instructor. The all-you-can-eat buffet lunch is served on the island, and you can enjoy the pool with a sea view. Drinks are paid on site. See the Orizea Island trip.
